Here are some of the student’s work from this project!

Color Wheel Mandalas.

Central Focus: In this lesson, students will learn all about the color wheel and how to layer colors using colored pencils. They will begin by practicing layering colors on top of one another onto a color wheel worksheet. Then, they will take a ruler and divide their 12”x12” final paper into 12 sections for the 12 colors in the color wheel. Next, they will take a compass and create a circle for their wheel. For the next step, they will use a pencil to make a repetitive design in each of the sections. The students have the option to use sharpie to make their designs stand out. Finally, students will use a colored pencil to color in each of the 12 sections with the 12 colors in the Color Wheel in order, making sure to include tints, shades, and a regular color.
